Roblox

Roblox operates a gaming and creation platform where users explore experiences built by a community of developers and creators. The company supplies creation tools, distribution, cloud infrastructure and a virtual economy rather than relying only on games produced by its own studios.

Tools, experiences and infrastructure

Roblox Client is the application people use to access experiences; Roblox Studio gives creators tools to build and operate them; Roblox Cloud supplies the underlying services. Creators produce nearly all of the platform’s content. This links Roblox’s appeal to both the variety of experiences available and the tools that help creators improve them. [1]

The creator economy

Creators can earn Robux through experiences, avatar items and other products. Eligible creators can exchange earned Robux for money through the Developer Exchange programme, subject to its requirements. Roblox retains a portion of transactions to support platform services. Its role therefore combines an entertainment destination with a marketplace and operating infrastructure for independent creative businesses. [1] [2]
