Netflix

Netflix distributes series, films and games through its global entertainment service. The company combines a direct relationship with members with investment in programming, product design and technology, and offers advertising-supported as well as other subscription plans.

Content and the member relationship

The service brings together entertainment from many countries and genres, including locally produced stories that can travel internationally. Members access the catalogue through connected devices, while Netflix’s commissioning and production activities help differentiate the service. Its Los Gatos headquarters also houses engineering, data, design and product teams behind that viewing experience. [1] [2]

Subscriptions and advertising

Membership revenue and advertising are distinct parts of Netflix’s business model. Its 2026 communications describe continued work on advertising, games and additional content categories. Corporate transactions require separate verification: Netflix announced in February 2026 that it would not raise its offer for Warner Bros., so that earlier proposed acquisition should not be treated as completed ownership.
